How the tools fit together
Tools are only useful as a chain. The usual loop looks like this: look something up in the dictionary, drill it in the HSK lists or on a printed worksheet, then test yourself with a quiz — and return to the dictionary whenever a question comes up. Every page links to the next one, so you can follow the loop without leaving the site.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions we get most often.
Are all the tools free?
Yes. Everything on this page — the dictionary, the quizzes, the worksheet maker — is free and needs no account. Quiz progress is stored in your browser only, so it stays private.
Can I print a practice sheet for any character?
Yes. Open the sheet maker, type or paste the characters you are learning, pick a grid style and a font, then print. Stroke order is included, so you can copy the correct form stroke by stroke.
I am a complete beginner — where should I start?
Start with pinyin, then follow the step-by-step path. Its self-check will point you to the right HSK level, and the dictionary answers anything the lessons do not cover.
Do the tools work on a phone?
Yes. Everything runs in the browser on phones and tablets. Worksheet printing works best from a desktop, but sheets preview fine on mobile too.
